These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ScholarSeed website, learning application, and SAT Math program (together, the “Service”). ScholarSeed is operated by Jorge Luis Cazares, an individual based in Massachusetts (“ScholarSeed,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Questions: support@scholarseed.com.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian should review these Terms with you, and only a parent or legal guardian may enroll you in the paid program.
Keep your account information accurate and your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@scholarseed.com if you suspect unauthorized access. Each account is for one student’s own learning and may not be shared or transferred.
2. Free lessons
Foundations, the first section of the curriculum, and selected sample lessons are free. Public sample lessons can be used without an account; their attempts are temporary and are not saved to any account. Creating an account or using free lessons does not enroll you in the paid program or start any enrollment deadline. We may change which free lessons are offered.
3. The paid program
The paid program is an eight-week SAT Math program with a fee of $2,500. The eight weeks include Foundations as the first week, followed by seven further weeks of lessons, practice, and checkpoints. Enrollment is rolling. Access to the paid program ends when the eight-week period ends.
Enrolled students share live online office hours, offered for five hours in total each week across all active program groups. Sessions may be individual or in a group, depending on attendance and availability; private sessions are not guaranteed. If we cancel a scheduled office-hours session, we will offer another time.
Paid enrollment is arranged through a consultation with a parent or guardian; it is not available by self-checkout on this website. The consultation explains the program dates, deadlines, and support included in your enrollment, and your enrollment confirmation will state them.
4. Qualification, payment, and cancellation
Enrollment has a qualification week, explained during the consultation:
- Payment hold. At the consultation, the parent or guardian may choose to authorize a $2,500 hold on a payment card. Authorizing the hold is not a charge.
- Complete Foundations. The student has seven full days from the consultation to complete every Foundations lesson and checkpoint.
- Confirm enrollment. One day before that deadline, we email a confirmation request. The parent or guardian must actively confirm enrollment on the confirmation page. Opening the email, or not responding, is not confirmation.
- Charge. We charge the $2,500 only after the seven days end, and only if the student completed Foundations on time, the parent or guardian confirmed, and the parent or guardian has not withdrawn. Completing Foundations early does not lead to an earlier charge.
If Foundations is not completed on time, or the parent or guardian does not confirm, declines, or withdraws, we release the hold and no charge is made. A parent or guardian may withdraw at any time before we send the enrollment confirmation email by emailing support@scholarseed.com.
We send the enrollment confirmation email after the payment succeeds. Once enrollment is confirmed, the program fee is not refundable on voluntary cancellation, except as provided by the Score Guarantee, Section 9 of these Terms, or applicable law.
5. Score Guarantee
The paid program includes a score guarantee: 770 or higher on the official SAT Math section, or a full refund of the program fee, for eligible students. Its conditions and claim process are set out only in the Score Guarantee, which forms part of these Terms. ScholarSeed does not promise any particular total SAT score, college admission, or scholarship.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share, sell, or transfer account access, or let anyone else complete lessons or checkpoints for you;
- copy, scrape, republish, or distribute lesson content, questions, or answer explanations;
- access another person’s account or information without permission;
- probe, disrupt, overload, or attempt to bypass the security of the Service; or
- use the Service in a way that is unlawful, abusive toward others, or intended to deceive us, including in connection with a guarantee claim.
7. Content and intellectual property
ScholarSeed owns or licenses the Service, including its lessons, questions, explanations, software, and branding. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own study while you have access. We do not claim ownership of mathematical facts.
You keep ownership of anything you submit, such as a profile picture or biography. You give us permission to store and use it only to operate the Service for you.
SAT® is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, ScholarSeed. Practice questions are original ScholarSeed content, not official College Board material.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or puts the Service or other users at risk. Except where there is a security or legal reason not to, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. A student whose paid program is terminated for a serious violation, such as someone else completing their work, is not entitled to a refund or guarantee claim.
9. If we cannot deliver the program
If we end the paid program early, or cannot deliver it for a substantial period, for reasons other than your violation of these Terms, we will refund the fee in proportion to the weeks of the program not delivered. If a service interruption prevents a student from completing the program by its deadline, we will extend the deadline by the length of the interruption.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to make the Service accurate and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Except as stated in the Score Guarantee, we do not guarantee any test result. These disclaimers do not limit the express promises in these Terms or the Score Guarantee.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, ScholarSeed is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities such as admission or scholarship outcomes. ScholarSeed’s total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid ScholarSeed in the twelve months before the claim or $100. This section does not limit refunds owed under the Score Guarantee or Section 9, or liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Indemnity
If you misuse the Service or violate these Terms or the law, and that causes a third-party claim against ScholarSeed, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs that result, to the extent permitted by law. This section does not apply to claims caused by ScholarSeed’s own conduct.
13. Disputes and governing law
If you have a concern, please email support@scholarseed.com first. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes that are not resolved informally may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, or in a small-claims court where you live if it has jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that apply where you live and cannot be waived.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If we make a material change, we will notify account holders by email or in the application before it takes effect. Changes apply going forward; they do not change the price, program length, or Score Guarantee of a paid enrollment that was already confirmed.
15. General
These Terms, the Score Guarantee, and your enrollment confirmation are the entire agreement between you and ScholarSeed about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer them to a successor operating the Service, and your rights under these Terms, including the Score Guarantee, continue with that successor.
